Valkyria W.I.P.

I am working on a character set for Terai Yuki (by Ken-Ichi Kutsugi) of a liberal interpretation of a Valkyria.

I modelling all the clothing, even the hair.
And here she is in the most recent milestone...

Modelling has been done in Silo and Shade, texturing in 3d-coat. Rendered in Poser.

mecha biped beasty W.I.P., yet another update!

It has been hell tweaking the joint parameters and the control dials to my liking. But it is in quite an advanced stage now.

The concentration on the turning around is done. 11 different animated body parts in a single dial. It was a lot of work. But it's finally done.

So I decided to find out why I had no visitors according to clustrmaps, and it turns out I had pasted some incorrect code!
Well, now it is working, and I like how the dots look on the world map :)

But more importantly, I've managed to reduce the number of dials to animate a walk cycle to just two dials!

Here is a video showing a walk, to test how my rigging holds out. Still untextured, but fully uvmapped.

The diamond thingies are the cannon's aims, you move them around, and the cannons follow them. It allows for easier posing.

Poser-side, I'm working on some weapons and thingies for the Zaibora project. Here shown is the pseudopod arms, the comlink (on the leg), the nuclear battery pack (also on the leg). I need to get some scifi inspiration for more thingies. Or maybe watch a batman movie...

Casino in Playa del Carmen, Mexico

This is the exterior of a proposed casino in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The facade, while sober, has some interesting dialogue with lighting. I wonder how it would look by day, though...

Modelled and rendered entirely in Shade. Male and female figures are Poser7 G2 Simon and Sydney, with the High Stakes content pack.

Poser can be a nice compositing package of items made somewhere else, it's menu driven library interface and dials take care of that.

However, I've read people complaining that they just cannot find a way to make nice images in Poser. Not that all my Poser images are that great, but I have been told from time to time that some are quite nice.

So I made a video detailing how I made one of the promo images of the January 2008 Passport freebie I'm sponsoring in Content Paradise. Here is the link to the freebie (all January 2008) in case you're curious.
